IL-126 (Lockport Street) Bridge Deck Repairs
IDOT began bridge deck repair work on IL-126 (Lockport Street) today. Lockport Street is restricted to one-way eastbound traffic between Wood Farm and Main. Westbound Lockport Street utilizes a detour route via Illinois 59, U.S. 30 (143rd Street), and Wallin Drive. The project is anticipated to be completed in October.
Pedestrian access over the bridge and vehicle access, via Countryman Drive, to the Riverfront will be maintained throughout construction. Please allow extra time for travel through the area. IDOT Press Release.

E-Bikes
Illinois now requires all low-speed electric bicycles (e-bikes) to display a label showing their class, top speed, and motor wattage (up to 750W). There are three classes:
• Classes 1 & 3: Pedal-assist only (Class 3 max speed 28 MPH, needs speedometer)
• Class 2: Throttle or pedal-assist, max 20 MPH
Riders must be at least 16 years old for Class 3 e-bikes. No license or registration is needed. Helmets are encouraged but not required.
E-bikes can be used on roads and bike lanes. Class 3 e-bikes are generally not allowed on trails or sidewalks. Proper front and rear lights or reflectors are required and riders must use hand signals when turning or stopping. Ride safely and enjoy the trails and roads in the Village!
