Chicago Cubs clinch the NL Wild Card and punch their ticket for the NLDS, and this will be against the Brewers who won the NL Central by five games and winning 97 games. The Cubs won the Regular season series however coming into this series the Brewers are without two of their top starting pitchers. Cubs finished the season limping into the playoffs losing Justin Tucker for half of September with a deep calf strain. The Cubs won the series with defense, and the bull pen was light out. However, we need to look at the starting pitching and offense if the Cubs are going to get past the Brewers. In the series in which there will be seven games.
Cubs are going to need their offense to improve with Pete Crowe Armstrong getting on base and using his speed to produce runs. Dansby Swanson needs to add to the offense and Susa tiki continues to be the leader in hitting and scoring runs. Michale Busch came up strong in the final game against the Brewers and with Justin Tucker coming up and HAPP, and Horner being catalyst for offense the focus is to continue good pitching with Jameson Teion and Mathew Boyd have to anchor the staff. As the series kick off on Saturday My prediction is the Cubs will win this series in six games. Let’s Go Cubs.
