As part of Oswego250, residents came together to celebrate the memories, people and places that have helped shape the community over generations.
On Aug. 13, the Village hosted a special screening of Oswego250: Home Is Where the Stories Are at Village Hall. The evening also included a live Q&A with longtime residents, who shared personal memories and reflections on Oswego’s past. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore a special exhibit highlighting the history of the iconic Oswego Drag Strip.

Village of Oswego, IL | Full-Time | Exempt | Salary $78,368.67- $111,283.51
Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for accuracy, financial reporting and public service? The Village of Oswego is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the Village's financial operations and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
What You'll Do
As Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in the Village's Finance Department by:
- Maintaining and reconciling the Village's general ledger and financial accounts
- Preparing month-end and year-end journal entries and financial reports
- Assisting with the annual audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- Tracking capital projects, grants and fixed assets
- Supporting budget preparation and maintaining budget data
- Assisting with investment accounting and treasury functions
- Serving as a backup for other Finance Department positions as needed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field (Accounting preferred)
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Tyler Munis experience preferred
- CPA or CPFO designation preferred
- Knowledge of municipal accounting principles and Illinois municipal finance practices is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
