Back in 2012 Kendall County State Representative Tom Cross worked with local activists to sponsor a bill that would make November 14th Illinois Diabetes awareness day here in the State of Illinois. Many area leaders worked and supported this cause that affects 1.5 million people just here in Illinois and another 300,000 Illinoisans who are unaware of this Disease. Advocates from the area are united to help further this cause by raising money, volunteering, and offering guidance in where to get treatment for diabetes. Leaders from surrounding communities are teaming up to ask local Municipal Governments to pass legislation in support of this important day. Local Organizations like the Fox Valley Diabetes Club and the local publication The Aurora Valley Times and TTS Gym are joining forces to ask the Villages of Montgomery, Oswego, and North Aurora to join in this important cause. The coalition will be also working with area in the State House and the State Senate to ask Governor Pritzker to please recognize this Date formally. The community open house will be held on Saturday October 17th at TTS Gym located 22 E Merchants Dr, Oswego, IL 60543 Oswego Mayor Ryan Kaufmann has been invited  and local leaders will give brief remarks on the importance of uniting as a community to address this important matter.  The event will take place from 5pm to 630 pm refreshments will be provided.
