Mini Cheer, ACS
Nearly 60 elementary school students participated in ACS Mini Cheer Camp this month! Taught by ACS middle and high school cheer teams, the camp saw these minis bring all of the energy and eagle spirit of Aurora Christian Schools!
The ACS Minis performed at ACS’s recent varsity football game and did an amazing job!
Rosary College Prep
Rosary College Prep's flag football team has had a tremendous regular season, with a 13-4 record. The team is led by senior captain Arden Contaldo, of Aurora, who plays both running back and linebacker and who was named all-conference last year.
After an injury early this season, senior Clara Bello, of North Aurora, has continued to contribute to the team, acting as the offensive coordinator for the Royals. Girls' flag football continues to grow across the country and at the school, as more than 30 Rosary students are on the roster this year.

West Aurora High School student senior, Bryce Riley, had a record-breaking performance (program single-game records) over Bartlett earlier this month. Bryce’s career totals include: 1764 rush yards (6th), 174 pts (5th), 2418 AP yards (7th), 23 rush TDs (6th).

Tomcats Jr. Football
The Jr. Tomcats had a successful opener to their season with an 18-14 comeback victory over Batavia Rotolo Middle School!
After lagging behind during the first half at 14-0, the student athletes at East Aurora scored 18 points in the second half – taking the lead on a 45-yard touchdown pass with 26 seconds remaining.

Neuqua Valley Running Students
Congratulations to Neuqua Valley junior Jeremy Lauff, who won two gold medals at the recent Obstacle Course Racing World Championships in Ireland. At the World Championships, Jeremy won the 100-meter individual obstacle course race which included running, wall climbs, overhead ladders, and platform jumps. He also captained the age 16+ mixed relay to a gold medal in one minute, 44 seconds.

Senior Aurora University student, Armando Acosta, won the 2026 Aurora University Spartan Cross Country Classic on Saturday, September 12 at the Settlers Hill Cross Country Course. He won the 8k event in a time of 27:46.5.

The Aurora Central Catholic High School Varsity Volleyball team went undefeated at 5-0 and were named Tournament Champions at the IMSA Glenn Schwartzwalder Classic this month!

Ammar Banire, a junior running back at Oswego High School, was selected as a Chicago Bears High School All-Star! Ammar was recognized for his on-field performance, sportsmanship, and involvement in his community. Way to go!

Illinois Math & Science Academy (IMSA)
IMSA Golf
The IMSA Boys Golf Team won its third consecutive Little Ten Conference Championship with a team score of 335, edging out Hinckley-Big Rock and Somonauk in the 8-team Three-Peat Tournament.
Junior Cyrus Dumser earned medalist honors with a field-best score of 74, senior Aidan Chang placed second with a 77, and both golfers received medals and were named to the All-Conference Team.
Good luck to the Titans as they compete in the IHSA Regional Tournament on the last day of the month!
Marmion Academy
The Marmion Academy Boys Soccer Team entered the latest stretch of the season with an impressive 9-2-1 record. The Cadets opened the season 8-0 and captured the 33rd Annual Norm Hillner Classic with a perfect 5-0, then won 3-2 over the Class 2A State Champion De La Salle.
The Cadets have consistently been ranked among the top 10 teams in Class 2A, showcasing the talent and determination that make up their team. Marmion soccer continues to build toward what promises to be an exciting finish this season.

Waubonsee Community College
Three Waubonsee head coaches, all with ties to West Aurora High School, picked up their first official head coaching wins as part of Waubonsee Community College this Fall.
WAHS grad, Olivia McPherson, scored a collegiate win as Head Volleyball Coach – WCC is currently 9-5 overall under McPherson’s leadership.
Former teacher and tennis coach at WAHS, Bruce Fraser, led the Women’s Tennis Team to an 8-1 win this month during his first year as head coach.
Alvaro Perez, interim head coach of Men’s Soccer, guided WCC to a 3-0 win right at the start of the season, with his team currently 4-2-1 overall this season.
The leadership at Waubonsee CC Athletics is strengthened by the local legends who come home to lead the charge.
