Leafing a Lasting Legacy
Arbor Day 2026
Oswego has officially been recognized as a 2025 Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation and received a Growth Award for going above and beyond in its commitment to urban forestry.
For 50 years, Tree City USA communities across the country have been recognized for investing in greener, healthier and more sustainable neighborhoods. This year, Oswego was honored not only for maintaining that commitment, but for continuing to grow it.
Trees do more than line our streets and parks. They provide shade on summer days, improve air quality, support wildlife and help make Oswego the kind of community people are proud to call home. This recognition reflects the care, planning and dedication that go into preserving and growing our community canopy year after year.
Thank you to the staff, volunteers, commissions and residents who continue to help keep Oswego green. This recognition belongs to the entire community.
Sewer Water
When rainwater flows across streets, driveways and lawns, it can carry pollutants like fertilizer, salt, pet waste and chemicals directly into our waterways through storm drains. Small actions at home can make a big difference in protecting water quality.
Residents can help by:
• Never dumping materials into storm drains, ditches or waterways
• Washing vehicles on grass instead of pavement
• Using only the minimum amount of fertilizer needed
• Properly storing chemicals and other materials away from drainage areas
• De-chlorinating pool water before draining
The Village continues to work year-round through its Stormwater Management Program and participation in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program to help protect local waterways for future generations.
Clean water starts with all of us. Learn about the Village’s Stormwater Management Program and NPDES, here!

Wine Not Give Us Your Feedback
WOTF 2026
Oswego, you sure know how to celebrate, and we cannot thank you enough for making the 20th year of Wine on the Fox one to remember. From the first pour to the final song of the weekend, the riverfront was filled with great wine, live music, laughter and countless memories shared with friends and family. Even the brief bit of rain could not slow things down or stop the celebration.
Now we’d love to hear from you. Tell us what you enjoyed most, which wineries stood out, what you’d love to see return and any ideas you have for making next year’s event even more memorable. Community feedback plays a huge role in shaping Wine on the Fox each year, and your input helps keep the tradition growing stronger.
