Had someone given their Post Season Wild Card predictions to advance, many would have predicted the Cubs would make a deep run, and the Sox would be eliminated in the first round. I imagine none of us would have a hard time believing it. Well folks, this is why the Post Season is a Season of its own. An unexpected turn of a page would occur. The Chicago White Sox went on to sweep the Houston Astros 7 -3, to end Houston's run. Just like yesterday's game, the Sox drew first blood and added more. The big moment came in the 6th inning, when a 3-run blast by, Chase Meidroth put the Astro's to bed. The Sox will play the Cleveland Guardians on October 3rd.
The Cubs, on the other hand, would end up getting swept by the San Diego Padres by a final score of 4-1 in game 2. The Padres will face off against the Milwaukee Brewers in the next Series. This is exactly why Post Season baseball is crazy! Even with a fantastic Season, the Post Season is its own beast. Chicago still has a team in the hunt. Will you be getting behind the Sox? Let us know. Time to sound off. What will the Cubs need to do in the off season to get ready for the next one?
