Place brush at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday of your collection week, but no earlier than noon on the Friday before. Stack branches neatly with the cut ends facing the same direction. Please do not place brush in containers or in the street.

The Village of Oswego is currently accepting applications for three full-time positions: Project Engineer, Public Works Director and Senior Accountant.
The Project Engineer will perform professional and technical work related to the planning, review and approval of public and private infrastructure projects within the Village. The salary range is $81,921.39 to $116,328.37, depending on qualifications.
The Public Works Director will lead the Village’s Public Works Department and oversee major infrastructure initiatives, including the transition to Lake Michigan water, improvements along the Wolfs Crossing corridor and completion of a new Public Works facility. The salary range is $142,563 to $213,866, effective January 1, 2027.
The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of accounting and budget-related projects, including maintaining Village funds and preparing, summarizing and examining financial reports and statements. The salary range is $78,368 to $111,283, depending on qualifications.
All three positions offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision and life insurance, participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), paid time off and professional growth opportunities.

The Village of Oswego Economic Development Commission is hosting an Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development Event on Wednesday, Oct. 28, bringing together organizations that can help entrepreneurs and small businesses get started, grow and plan for the future.
Attendees can connect directly with representatives who can provide guidance on accessing capital, budgeting and financial planning, business plan development, employee training and HR, marketing and business development, strategic and growth planning, and more.
Representatives from Illinois workNet, the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce, SCORE Business Mentors, the Small Business Development Center, Veterans Business Outreach Center and Women’s Business Development Center will be available to answer questions and share resources.
This event is a great opportunity for current business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs and anyone with a business idea to connect with resources and get answers to questions that can help move their business forward.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Oswego Public Library, 32 Jefferson St., on the second floor. The event is free to attend, but registration is encouraged. Click here to register.

Community Kauffee
Community Kauffee with Village President Ryan Kauffman returns Nov. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Village Hall Board Room. This quarter’s discussion will focus on Village finances, giving residents an opportunity to learn more about how the Village manages its finances, ask questions and take part in an open conversation about the Village’s finances.

Light Up the Fox
Lantern Festival
Join the first-ever Oswego Lantern Parade on Saturday, Oct. 17, for a free, all-ages evening of light, creativity and community along the Fox River.
Participants will meet at the Oswego Public Library parking lot at 5:30 p.m., with the parade stepping off at 6:30 p.m. Bring a handmade lantern illuminated with battery-powered LED or fairy lights. A limited number of lantern-making kits will also be available at the library from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
The parade will travel from the library to Hudson Crossing Park, where the evening continues with the Oswegoland Park District Night Market featuring live music, drinks, food, local vendors and a professional pumpkin-carving demonstration. Spectators should head directly to Hudson Crossing Park to watch the procession arrive.
